Dr. Hauser is a specialist (not primary care) focusing on:
- female hormones
- digestive problems (including IBS, UC)
- thyroid issues (including Hashimotos)
- automimmune issues (including fibromyalgia)
He works to restore the 3 main body systems: hormones, digestion and detoxification.
Do you accept insurance? Medicare? Tricare?
Dr. Hauser does NOT participate with any insurance plans.
We want to take care of you in a way that insurance companies don’t believe. For example, we spend 60 minutes with our new patients – insurance companies want us to spend a fraction of that time. The average face-time in today’s medical system is 7 minutes with your doctor! We strive to provide the best customer service which includes listening to you and not rushing you through your appointment.
Since Hauser Health does not have a contract with any insurance company, we do not file forms with insurance companies. We will provide you with a receipt (known as a “superbill”), which includes all standard information you will need to submit your claim directly to your insurance company (such as CPT codes, ICD-10 diagnoses and codes, etc.). Some of the services provided may be “non-covered” services or not considered “reasonable and necessary” under your medical insurance. We are not able to provide diagnosis codes in advance of appointments.
Dr. Hauser does not participate with Medicare and has opted-out. You cannot submit invoices to Medicare. Dr. Hauser also does not participate with Tricare. We are also not a “non-participating provider.”
We do accept HSA (Health Savings Accounts), Flexible Spending Accounts, and credit card payments.
We encourage you to check with your insurance company regarding the specifics of your policy for out-of-network claims.
Do you treat children?
At this time Dr. Hauser only sees adults 18 and older.
Will Dr. Hauser be my primary care physician?
No, Dr. Hauser does not function as your primary care physician. If Dr. Hauser is seeing you, you must have and maintain a primary care physician in order to be followed at Hauser Health. We function as a specialty consultation practice. We are glad to work in conjunction with your primary care provider in order to coordinate and facilitate your care.
What is included in the initial consultation and what is the cost?
The initial visit includes a 60 minute consultation with Dr. Hauser. The visit costs $400. We require a $100 deposit to hold your appointment. Your deposit will apply to your first appointment.
What are the costs for follow up visits?
Follow up visits with Dr. Hauser are $200 per 30 minutes.
Each specialized test that Dr. Hauser runs requires a separate 30 minute follow up appointment to go over your results and a create a plan specifically for you.
For example, if you do a GI test and a food sensitivity test – you will come in for two separate 30 minute appointments.
He believes that your health care relies on understanding your body, why things are happening and creating a plan of action, thus the 30 minute appointment.
What is your cancellation/re-schedule policy?
If you need to cancel or re-schedule your appointment, please do so within 2 business days.
Voicemails and emails sent after Friday at 5pm will be treated as a Monday 9am notification.
Follow up patients who cancel or re-schedule their appointment less than 2 business days will be charged $100.
New patients are charged a non-refundable $100 deposit when scheduling an appointment. This fee will be applied towards your first visit.
When a patient cancels within 48 business hours of an appointment or is a “no show,” we miss the opportunity to provide care to other patients during that time slot.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, credit cards, health savings credit cards and flex spending credit cards. We do not accept personal checks.
Is there any paperwork I will need to complete prior to my appointment?
Yes, please! After making an appointment with Hauser Health, we will email a link to the new client paperwork with easy-to-understand instructions. Let us know if you have any problems filling out the forms.
What should I bring to my appointment?
Your New Patient Paperwork will already be filled out!
To make for the most efficient use of your time with the doctor, it is a good idea to be prepared with a list of questions and issues you wish to discuss. Also, if you have previous lab results and reports from previous physicians, which you feel are pertinent, please bring copies of these with you to your initial visit.
What is Patient Fusion and why do I need a profile?
Patient Fusion is a free patient portal. It is a web-based HIPAA secure database, which is used as an Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system. You will get a link in your email to create your account, which will be used as your electronic health chart. You will be able to fill out your initial patient forms, confirm appointments, read summaries about your visits with Dr. Hauser, see your lab results and be in control of your health information.

How do I schedule an appointment?
When you are ready to schedule, give us a call at Hauser Health (240-490-8978) and we will provide you with the earliest available times.
Do you offer nutrition consultations?
Yes! For current patients we have an on-site nutritionist who follows Dr. Hauser’s integrative nutrition approach to wellness and healthy eating. The consultations are $100 for the initial appointment and $75 for follow up appointments.
How often will I need to be seen?
Typically you can expect a four-week follow up visit to review labs after the initial consultation.
If you decide with Dr. Hauser to do specialized testing, you can plan to come in for a 30 minute follow up appointment to go over results and create a plan for each test.
After this, the amount of time determined to follow up will vary on an individual basis but once you are on your way to optimal health, you can plan on semi-annual to annual follow up visits.
Will my insurance cover my lab work?
Lab orders for blood work can be taken to a laboratory that is contracted with your insurance so that you may use your insurance to cover the costs. Though we do our best to code your order in a way that will justify specific tests being conducted, we can never guarantee insurance companies will cover it.
How much do to the home lab tests cost?
Some insurance companies cover home lab tests. Depending on your insurance company, the cost is $100-300.
Do you offer payment options?
At this time we do not offer payment options and fees are due in full at the time of service.
